The romantic capital of the world – Paris!

Well, here we are, our second major European city on our tour and first I have to apologise for how long it’s taken me to put up this post – it’s been ready to go for ages but I just haven’t got round to it!

We caught the Eurostar from London, getting a really good rate on their website for one-way tickets (We don’t know where we might go next!) so I’d recommend checking them out for anyone who’s looking to get around Europe when they’re over here for a visit – it’s much cheaper than flying!

Anyway – once we arrived we did the usual touristy thing and checked out a lot of the main sites that are around. Our photos taken in front of the Eiffel Tower are some of my favourites from the entire collection of photographs I have so far – Once I work out how to upload them – I’ll be sure to share!

The actual tower itself wasn’t my favourite part of the city though… Notre Dame – perhaps the most famous cathedral in the world was truly mesmerising.  Before the trip I’d only ever seen it in the Disney movie – but I can safely say it needs to be seen to be believed. Simply stunning.

We stayed in a hotel in the middle of the city, it was nice, though I much prefer the more peaceful setting we had at my sister’s in cottage we had in Devon in the South West of England. With that in mind we’re looking at getting away to the South of France in the next few weeks to enjoy some sun in what we’re told is a really peaceful setting. Can’t wait for that!
